Is making the move from UConn to Maryland really a better job, seems more to me like a lateral move.

I would rather be at MD in the ACC than at UC in the Big Least. Your strength of schedule will be better and you will be able to get better talent at MD. He'll have a better fanbase and facilities. I also believe it will be easier to get a recruit to commit to Md over Conn.

It will be much harder to reach a BCS game though. I agree on the other stuff, just thought he could get a better job than Maryland. Shoot, even Pittsburgh is back open, wonder who will land there now that Haywood pooped in his nest.

Im shocked by it. I figured for sure they were going to get Leach.

I think Edsall is a better hire than Leach, he did a better job at a tougher place to win.

Maryland is a much better job than Uconn. Friegen showed you could succeed there having 6 8-win seasons in the 10 years. The terps were one game away from playing in the ACC title game this year. Plus Maryland is Under Armour's flagship school and get a lot of support from them. Edsall should be able to have much more success than he did at Uconn with better facilities and a better fanbase
